AUTHOR POLICY

SCIENTARA JOURNAL

Journal of Agricultural, Environmental and Life Sciences

Overview

Authors submitting manuscripts to Scientara Journal are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, integrity, transparency, and ethical compliance of their work. Every listed author must make a meaningful contribution to the research and publication process, approve the submitted and final versions of the manuscript, and accept responsibility for their contribution and the integrity of the work.

Authors must follow this Author Policy together with the applicable Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policy, Peer Review Policy, APC Policy, and other journal-specific instructions. Scientara Journal may periodically review and update its author policies to maintain clear and responsible scholarly publishing practices.

Authorship and Author Eligibility

Who qualifies as an author

Every listed author should make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation; contribute to drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; approve the final submitted manuscript and the final version intended for publication; and accept accountability for their contribution and the integrity of the work.

Contributions that do not by themselves justify authorship

Individuals who provide only funding, general supervision, administrative support, language editing, technical assistance, or access to resources should not be listed as authors unless they also satisfy the journal's authorship criteria. Eligible non-author contributions may be acknowledged with the contributor's permission.

Prohibited authorship practices

Guest authorship, gift authorship, and ghost authorship are not permitted. All listed authors must know about and agree to the submission.

Author order and group authorship

Authors are responsible for agreeing on the author order before submission. The order should reflect the authors' actual contributions and accepted disciplinary practice. For group, consortium, or collaborative authorship, the manuscript should clearly identify the group and provide contributor information where applicable.

Author Contribution Statement

Manuscripts should include a clear statement describing the contribution of each author. Authors may use the CRediT Contributor Role Taxonomy where appropriate to describe contributions transparently.

Relevant contribution roles may include conceptualization, methodology, software, validation, formal analysis, investigation, resources, data curation, writing - original draft, writing - review and editing, visualization, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.

A contribution statement supplements, but does not replace, the journal's authorship criteria. One author may perform multiple roles, and the same role may be shared by multiple authors.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

Primary communication contact

The corresponding author serves as the primary communication contact with the journal during submission, review, revision, and publication. This author should ensure that messages from the journal are promptly shared with co-authors when necessary.

Submission accuracy

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that author names, affiliations, contact details, manuscript files, contribution statements, and other submission information are complete and accurate.

Author consent

The corresponding author should confirm that all listed authors have approved the manuscript, the submission, and any revised version sent to the journal.

Response to editorial requests

The corresponding author should coordinate responses to reviewer and editor comments and should help ensure that revisions are completed accurately and on time where possible.

Research Integrity and Ethical Compliance

Authors must submit original work and must not engage in plagiarism, duplicate submission, redundant publication, fabricated or falsified data, inappropriate image manipulation, citation manipulation, or any other form of publication misconduct.

Where the research involves humans, animals, regulated materials, sensitive data, field permissions, institutional review, or other ethical oversight, authors must ensure that all required approvals, consent, permissions, and disclosures are handled appropriately before submission.

Any use of previously published text, figures, tables, data, or other material must be clearly acknowledged and, where required, supported by permission from the rights holder.

Submission, Review, and Revision Responsibilities

Before submission

Authors should carefully review the journal's author instructions, prepare the manuscript according to journal expectations, and ensure that the submission is complete, accurate, and properly authorized by all authors.

During review

Authors should respond constructively to editorial and reviewer comments and should explain revisions clearly when resubmitting the manuscript. Any disagreement with a suggestion should be addressed respectfully and with a reasoned response.

Revision integrity

Revised manuscripts should accurately reflect all agreed changes. Authors should not obscure or misrepresent changes made in response to review.

Communication with the journal

Authors should maintain accurate contact information and should respond promptly to journal correspondence related to manuscript processing, proofs, or ethical questions.

Post-Publication Responsibilities

After publication, authors should cooperate with the journal if clarification, correction, correction notice, or other editorial action is required to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record. Authors should notify the journal if they become aware of a significant error in their published work.

Where relevant, authors are also expected to preserve the integrity of underlying data and to support reasonable editorial requests connected with the published article.

Policy Statement

Scientara Journal expects authors to uphold originality, accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the entire publication process and after publication.
